Specialized Treatment Tracks
Specialized Treatment Tracks
Dual Diagnosis Track
The Dual Diagnosis (DD) track is designed for those suffering from substance abuse as a secondary diagnosis. It is a series of group therapy sessions, ordered by a physician, in addition to our standard level of program care. The track begins with an individual assessment to determine the depth and type of abuse or addiction present in an individual's life. After assessment the individual, if deemed appropriate, attends DD groups several times a week including on-site Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics
Anonymous groups for those currently staying on our inpatient units.
The three major goals of this track are to stabilize the individual, promote the individual's investment in treatment, and facilitate treatment through the discharge planning process.
Self-Injurious Behavior Track
The Self-Injurious Behavior (SIB) track is designed for those who are injuring themselves. It consists of a series of groups, ordered by a physician, in addition to our standard level of program care. The track begins with an assessment to determine the individual's thoughts about their behavior and the type of motivation the individual has to end the self-injury. The SIB group meets throughout their stay for psychoeducation and psychotherapy groups, and for expressive therapy and body awareness groups.
The three major goals of this track are to assist the individual in identifying the underlying emotions behind their behavior, to educate individuals on coping with their emotions in a more positive manner and to prepare each individual to face possible obstacles they may encounter in continuing their treatment.
